El Paso Fire Department, Border Patrol rescue woman from canal

A woman was rescued from a Lower Valley canal late Thursday night, the El Paso Fire Department said. The Fire Department’s water rescue team and U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued the woman at about 11 p.m. Thursday from a canal near Yarbrough Drive and the César Chávez Border Highway, officials said. The woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, officials said. No other injuries were reported. No further information has been released. Police say man crossing Border Highway died after being struck by 2 cars KVIA One of two cars that struck and killed a pedestrian along the Border Highway. UPDATE, Feb. 26: El Paso police said Friday that a man struck along the Border Highway a day prior was actually hit by two cars and had died from his injuries. The man s identity was not released as police said they were still in the process of notifying his family. A police incident report released Friday said the man ran across Loop 375 East near Midway and that an oncoming car was unable to avoid hitting him. Then, the report says a second car also struck the man.
