Govt takes allout preparation to face cyclonic storm Yaas: Enamur 273 DHAKA, May 24, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr M Enamur Rahman today said allout preparations have been taken to face the cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ as the cyclonic storm over East central Bay and adjoining area likely to hit north Odisha-West Bengal and Khulna coast by early morning on May 26. Maximum sustained wind speed within 54 kms of the cyclone center is about 62kph rising to 88kphin gusts or squalls. Sea will remain very rough near the cyclone center, according to latest special weather bulletin issued by the storm warning center of the meteorological department here this afternoon.

BSF obstructs construction of Bangabandhu museum in Lalmonirhat

Subedar Abdus Samad said LGED started construction of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum this morning. BSF protested the construction at noon saying that the museum was being constructed within 150 yards of the border. The construction work was halted due to the protest. The matter has been reported to higher levels. The decision will be taken after discussions between the two countries, the official said. On information, Dahagram Union Parishad Chairman Kamal Hossain rushed to the spot and talked with BSF and BGB. Ali Ashraf, executive engineer of Lalmonirhat LGED, told The Daily Star that work remains halted due to the protest by BSF.
