Subedar Abdus Samad said LGED started construction of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum this morning. BSF protested the construction at noon saying that the museum was being constructed within 150 yards of the border. The construction work was halted due to the protest. The matter has been reported to higher levels. The decision will be taken after discussions between the two countries, the official said.
On information, Dahagram Union Parishad Chairman Kamal Hossain rushed to the spot and talked with BSF and BGB.
Ali Ashraf, executive engineer of Lalmonirhat LGED, told The Daily Star that work remains halted due to the protest by BSF.
