Hailey Jayne Wheeler and Mark Alwyn Sanders pounced on the victim as she was walking towards the front door of her flat in Sea Road. The woman was kicked, pushed, hit with a hammer and held down by the throat as the offenders demanded a key for a safe, which they understood had been taken by other people in a burglary the previous day. She suffered three open fractures to her fingers and cuts to her face.
City of Killeen considering $5.8 million bid to fix badly damaged roads

KILLEEN, Texas The City of Killeen is still dealing with the lingering effects of the February winter storm. It is so bad, city council members are considering a $5.8 million bid to repair the roads. So many people drive on those roads,” said Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra. “I think it is the city s responsibility to make sure you have safe roads, and good roads that are not going to tear up your car or anything like that.”

Four men are set to go on trial after denying a number of charges in connection with a shooting at a travellers site in Suffolk.
Three teenagers were injured as a result of an incident at a caravan site in Red Lodge on Easter Sunday.
Police were called to reports of shots fired at the site in Bridge End Road, off Elms Road, at about 2.55pm on Sunday, April 4.
A number of arrests were made near another travellers site outside the village of Cottenham, Cambridgeshire, the same afternoon.
Detectives with the Killeen Police Department are investigating a drive-by shooting that took place Sunday evening.
Sunday, at approximately 9:41 p.m., KPD officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Frigate Drive where they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police.
KPD spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said the man was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple in stable condition.
âOfficers were told that the victim was traveling on Elms Road when an unknown dark in color SUV discharged a firearm towards the victimâs vehicle, when he was struck,â Miramontez said Monday.
The investigation is ongoing as of Monday afternoon, she said.
