Arguments reignited over a new 969 home project, on Yarm Back Lane, at Wednesday’s planning committee. The huge development by housebuilding giants Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon was approved in a knife-edge vote in February. Concerns about the narrowness of Yarm Back Lane and speed limits were aired during the marathon three hour meeting earlier this year. But the committee was also warned it risked running out of time to get £10m in Government grants for road improvements if it didn’t approve the scheme, or it opted to push back a decision. Conservative councillor Lynn Hall wanted the minutes of the meeting changed – believing key details had been missed out.
