Maryland State Police Arrest Cecil County Man On Child Pornography Charges

(ELKTON, MD) – Troopers arrested and charged a Cecil County man early Monday morning after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
The suspect is identified as William Burroughs, 27, of Elkton, Maryland. Burroughs is charged with six counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography. He was transported to the Maryland State Police North East Barrack for processing.
Beginning in October 2020, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the distribution and possession of child pornography online. ELKTON â A man is facing 12 child pornography charges after investigators raided his Elkton residence on Monday morning, ending a six-month-long investigation, according to the Maryland State Police.
Investigators identified the suspect as 27-year-old William Burroughs, who is charged with six counts each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, police reported.
MSP investigators conducted a court-approved search of Burroughsâ residence shortly before 7 a.m. Monday, after developing him as a suspect, and they arrested him there during that raid, police said. FBI Maryland Child Exploitation Task Force agents and Elkton Police Department officers assisted MSP detectives during the court-approved search, police added.
