View Comments A man was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter in connection with a wrong-way crash resulting in one person dying and seven others being injured, officials said. Mario Ernesto Martel was allegedly driving drunk on the wrong side of the road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 10 West, near Tornillo, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Martel then crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Mayvel Alexandra Morales. There were seven passengers inside Morales’ vehicle, officials said. Morales and the other passengers were taken to hospitals for treatment to their injuries. Morales later died from the injures she suffered in the accident, officials said.
