She said: Cathy really isn t coping. She goes into hiding and she is pushing the one person who is trying to help her away. Her state of mind has been affected by what is happening all around her. She doesn t want anyone else to get hurt by what is happening to her. We haven t really touched much on her hoarding for a while, but it is good to show that we haven t forgotten. Coronation Street fans are set to see Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) causing trouble from beyond the grave in coming scenes.
In a kind gesture, Elaine gives her son a collection of his childhood toys, which she had held onto for all of these years as a reminder of him.
However, Tim ends up confiding in his wife Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) that he doesn t actually want to be reminded of a childhood that never really existed, thanks to Geoff s manipulation.
Tim reveals to Elaine that he is thinking of stashing the toys in the attic and Elaine hides her disappointment, assuring Tim that what he does with the toys is his decision.
Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman) offers to sell the whole collection at a jumble sale, but when Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) discovers that one toy car in the haul is worth £2,000 alone, the race is on to discover who bought the precious item!
