Williamsburg man facing murder charge in death of girlfriend arraigned; Several others arraigned and set for pretrial conferences

Robbie Hill WHITLEY COUNTY — A Williamsburg man accused of killing his girlfriend and storing her body in a trash can has had a future pretrial conference date scheduled in Whitley County Circuit Court. John Meadows, 58, is scheduled to reappear in court on July 19. Meadows was arraigned and pleaded not guilty in April after he was indicted earlier that month on one count murder and tampering with physical evidence. Meadows is accused of killing Donna G. Lay who was reported missing on January 27. She was last seen on January 7. After interviewing Meadows multiple times during their investigation into Lay’s whereabouts, the Williamsburg Police Department was able to obtain a warrant to search the apartment shared by the two located on South 10th Street in Williamsburg.

By Jarrod Mills Staff Writer Apr 22, 2021 Ronald Sisk WHITLEY COUNTY - A Williamsburg man accused of firing a gun towards Williamsburg police during a two-hour standoff has been indicted on attempted murder charges by a Whitely County grand jury. Ronald Sisk, 53, of Brush Arbor Road now faces three counts of attempted murder charges, one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of persistent felony offender in the first degree. According to the indictment, Sisk fired a gun towards Williamsburg Police Officer Johnny Fulton, Sgt. Elijah Hunter, and Officer Jason Williams back on January 7.

A Williamsburg man wanted on separate Whitley County arrest warrants charging him with attempting to pass a forged check and fleeing from police was arrested early Tuesday morning in Corbin. Williamsburg Police Officer Elijah Hunter took Justin L. Dodd, 32, into custody after locating him at a residence on Chestnut Street. Williamsburg police and Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies had each secured arrest warrants following the incidents on Feb. 19 and Feb. 21, respectively. According to the first warrant, Williamsburg police were called to Community Trust Bank on North Third Street in Williamsburg at approximately 4 p.m. According to the warrant, Dodd had allegedly passed a forged check at the Community Trust Bank on U.S. 25W on that day.

In his sophomore year on the football field, the running back ran for 1,639 yards on 213 carries, averaging 7.7 yards per carry and scoring 19 touchdowns. He also caught a 57-yard pass, scoring another TD, plus he had 105 tackles on defense, including 24 combined sacks and tackles for a loss and two interceptions.
