Taipei, June 1 (CNA) Local governments across Taiwan are urging residents to shop for groceries less frequently at a time when strict control measures have been adopted under a Level 3 COVID-19 alert in the hope of curbing a rising outbreak.
This past weekend, however, large numbers of people were seen shopping in traditional markets, alarming local governments because the markets have been identified as possible hotspots for transmitting the virus because of their cramped conditions and poor ventilation.
To keep the number of people visiting the markets down, local governments are urging residents to follow a go less, buy more principle.
