Woman dies in Clinton crash - Oak Ridge Today

Oak Ridge Today Posted at A 37-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Clinton on Friday, according to WYSH Radio in Clinton. The head-on collision was reported Friday evening on North Main Street in front of the Anderson County Health Department building in Clinton. The crash killed Elizabeth Rau of Clinton and injured the driver of the second vehicle, Stanley Slover of Rocky Top, WYSH reported. The crash was reported to dispatchers at about 5:15 p.m. Friday. Clinton Police Department investigators determined that Rau had been driving north in a Hyundai Sonata when her vehicle “crossed over the center line into the oncoming lane of travel,” and collided with Slover’s Dodge pickup, WYSH reported.

Woman killed in fatal crash on Friday Oakridger Clinton resident Elizabeth Rau died Friday in a two-vehicle crash on North Main Street in Clinton near the Anderson County Health Department. Rau was driving a Hyundai and the other driver was driving a Dodge pickup truck, according to Clinton Police Chief Vaughn Becker who spoke to The Oak Ridger Monday. Becker said Rau died at the scene. He said the other driver, who he did not identify, was injured but the injuries were not life threatening.  Becker said the Clinton Police Department was dispatched around 5:16 p.m., responding to a call shortly after the wreck. He said according to the crash reconstruction, one of the drivers vehicles crossed the center line, hitting the other vehicle head on, but he said he was not sure which vehicle crossed the center line. He said there were no charges or charges pending, but the incident still under investigation.
