CLAIR SHORES Beginning the week of March 8, after press time, students in Lake Shore Public Schools will have the opportunity to attend in-person classes for four days per week. “Right now, according to the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), we are at the blue level, the lowest level of risk for Macomb County,” Superintendent Joseph DiPonio told the Lake Shore Public Schools Board of Education at its Feb. 22 meeting. The Board of Education voted unanimously to merge the two cohorts so that all students currently participating in hybrid learning would instead attend school together Tuesday through Friday with slightly shortened schedules and continue to learn remotely every Monday.

No Injuries But Two Vehicles Disabled In Carroll Accident Friday

No injuries were reported but two vehicles did suffer disabling damage in an accident in Carroll Friday afternoon. The Carroll Police Department was called to the scene at U.S. Highway 71 and 15 th Street at approximately 12:57 p.m. Twenty-three-year-old Elizabeth Munger of Sac City was northbound on 71 in a 2006 Toyota Corolla. Sixty-four-year-old Cristal Dunkerson of Carroll was southbound on Highway 71 in a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van and attempting to turn left onto 15 th Street. Dunkerson did not see the Munger vehicle and turned in front of the Toyota, resulting in an impact to the passenger side of the van. Dunkerson was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.
