OSWEGO The 6th Annual “Out Run Autism” 5K will return live on May 1 to benefit the Oswego County Autism Task Force.
Once again Vona’s Restaurant has been named top sponsor of the event that will begin at 8:30 a.m. on May 1 in front of the Press Box in Oswego.
“We are very grateful to have the continued support from the generous Vona family,” said Oswego County Autism Task Force President Tammy Thompson.
The run/walk will take participants through Oswego’s East side, scenic Fort Ontario area on Saturday, May 1. This year’s 5k will have a live “in person” option as well as a “virtual” option to participate and support the cause.

IONIA A group of community members is leading the effort to rebrand and expand the Ionia farmers market.
The Ionia Harvest Marketplace is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday from June 5 through Oct. 2 at the Robert Hoppough Farm Market Pavilion, which is located at the corner of Adams and Steele streets in downtown Ionia.
Ryan Wilson, a volunteer with Ionia Harvest Marketplace, said he’s part of a small group of community members who wanted to grow the downtown farmers market.
“We wanted to rebrand it to make it bigger than just a farmers market,” Wilson said. “That’s the idea behind it.”
