There have been multiple bear sightings in the Black Hills in recent weeks, including in Lead, Johnson Siding, and near Reptile Gardens.
Officials say that it’s common for larger animals in places like Wyoming and Minnesota to come to a place like the Black Hills in search of a place to settle.
At this time, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks continues to record, monitor, and map the sightings but remind the public to keep areas clean of food, trash and even dog food that could attract bears and other wildlife.
Business notebook: Hendrick Health opens three new clinics
Hendrick Health this week celebrated the opening of two new clinics in Abilene, as well as one in Brownwood.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted Thursday for new Hendrick Urgent Care clinics on both Ambler Avenue and Buffalo Gap Road.
A second ribbon-cutting was held Friday for the new Hendrick Urgent Care location in Brownwood.
The new clinics will provide walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries. All three locations will open for patients on Monday.
