Following on from a triumphant return to the stage after an extended hiatus, the Ipswich Little Theatre is putting the finishing touches on its next production.
The eight-night season of Back on the Boards brought the crowds back into the Incinerator Theatre in March, with organisers adhering to strict health measures that were in place prior to the latest Brisbane lockdown.
The Little Theatre’s Robyn Harm said theatre goers relished the opportunity to see a show after the COVID-19 shutdown of 2020.
Next month, Ipswich Little Theatre will perform The Savannah Sipping Society.
Set in the American southern state of Georgia, the story centres on four women who are united unexpectedly by an impromptu happy hour.

A MONSTER blockbuster which has set COVID-19 box office records was filmed in Ipswich, with Mayor Teresa Harding talking up the potential of the city to welcome more film and TV productions.
Part of Godzilla vs. Kong was filmed at the Workshops Rail Museum in North Ipswich in 2019 with 90 crew members and 200 staff involved in the local shoot.
Ipswich City Council has approved 13 film permits in the past several months for titles including House Hunters International, The Parenting Show, the Russell Howard Show and Crikey! It’s the Irwins. The Workshops Rail Museum.

Subscriber only FOLLOWING a disastrous 2020 in which they were forced to rely on donations to survive, members of the Ipswich Little Theatre are just happy to be back in rehearsals. The usually proactive local theatre society was all but crippled by the onset of the pandemic last year, unable to hold performances at the city s famous Incinerator Theatre despite still having to pay the bills. Little Theatre spokeswoman Robyn Harm said if it wasn t for a grant from the RACQ Foundation, the group would have been in serious trouble ahead of the 2021 season. The show must go on, as they say, and with restrictions eased for the time being at least, the Little Theatre is keenly awaiting the season ahead, with rehearsals for
