Jul 23, 2021 / 04:14 PM EDT DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) The Dayton Police Department held a news conference regarding a domestic violence call that led to a woman being shot by police overnight Thursday. Dayton police said the call came in around 10:34 p.m. Thursday night. Initially, officers were sent to a domestic violence call on Newton Avenue near Harvard Boulevard where a woman claimed she was being stalked by her child’s father. Lt. Col. Eric Henderson, of the Dayton Police Department, said when officers arrived they approached an argument on Newton Avenue on foot. A different woman, later identified as Damika Legrand, then drove over the curb and attempted to run someone over with her vehicle.
