Deputy District Attorney Linda Baek s Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit alleges gender discrimination, retaliation, disability discrimination and failure to prevent harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Baek seeks unspecified damages in the suit brought Monday. A representative for the District Attorney s Office declined to comment on the suit. “The facts in this case stem from a coordinated pattern of continuing violations that began when Ms. Baek complained of sexual harassment by a co-worker in 2014, the suit states.

Armando “Gabby Vasquez was last seen about 3 p.m. Tuesday near LA Fitness at the intersection of Culver Drive and Barranca Parkway, according to the Irvine Police Department. About 12:40 a.m., a patrol sergeant showed a citizen a photo of Vasquez and the person recognized the missing man and helped lead to his whereabouts, the department said. Vasquez was found in good condition and was reunited with his family, police said. An exact location where Vasquez was found was not disclosed.

By City News Service May 5, 2021 INDUSTRY (CNS) - A man riding a bicycle on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Industry was struck by several vehicles and killed, and some lanes of the freeway were closed for more than four hours before reopening this morning. The man was riding westbound in the eastbound lanes near the center divider, just east of Santa Anita Avenue, when he began riding northbound across the freeway and was struck by a vehicle in the No. 2 lane about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man was immediately struck by three additional vehicles, and came to rest in the No. 2 lane, the CHP said.

The county meets two of the three categories for the yellow tier in the metrics, which are released by the state on Tuesdays, and its weekly average of daily new cases per 100,000 residents improved from 2.6 to 2.4. However, a graduation into the yellow tier requires that the case rate must get below 2 per 100,000 people. A county must maintain metrics for a tier for two weeks before graduating to a less-restrictive level.

LA Prosecutors Seek Ancient Roman Sculpture Acquired by Kim Kardashian

The marble and limestone statue resembling the lower half of a person draped in fabric was seized at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport in June 2016 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection after a company linked to Kardashian attempted to import it using the wrong documentation, the civil forfeiture action alleges.
