Case against Ian Bailey for drug driving which he is contesting has been further adjourned until next month Bantry District Court in West Cork has adjourned four charges faced by Mr Bailey until May 13th next when the case is expected to be finalised.
In November of last year Judge John King heard legal submissions from barrister Emmet Boyle on behalf of Mr Bailey. It was adjourned to allow for written submissions on various matters.
Mr Bailey was found with a small tin of cannabis on his person following his arrest at a garda checkpoint in West Cork, the court previously heard.

During a search of Ikran Aslam’s home, gardaí found a large quantity of cannabis herb, weighing scales and bags hidden behind the back panel of a wardrobe.
A man who fled from an open prison in the UK has been jailed for five years for possesssion of cannabis worth €34,000 in Cork city last year.
Ikran Aslam (38), a British citizen with an address at The Avenue, Pembroke Woods, Passage West, Co Cork, pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to possessing cannabis herb for sale or supply and money laundering on September 24th, 2020.

A 46-year-old plumber has been jailed for three years for striking another man with a poker and threatening to destroy his house and car during a row over a parking space.
Gavin Craven from Glenfield Avenue, Ballyvolane, Co Cork, also claimed to be a member of the IRA during the incident.
He pleaded guilty on Monday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to assault causing harm to a man at Liffey Park, Mayfield, in early August 2020, contrary to section three of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
Ian Bailey has challenged the statutory right of gardaí to process a drug-driving prosecution against him.
The revelation came as Bantry District Court adjourned four charges against the 62-year-old freelance journalist and law graduate who last year successfully fought extradition to France over the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier (39).
Mr Bailey has consistently protested his innocence in relation to the December 23, 1996 killing of the French mother of one at her west Cork holiday home.
The Manchester-born poet was convicted in absentia by a French court of the killing in 2019 but has repeatedly claimed that attempts were made to frame him for the crime.
