AN AIRLINE passenger whose drunken behaviour forced a flight to divert to Cork has been fined €1,500.
Brit Gemma Campbell was so abusive towards the cabin crew on a flight from the Canary Islands to Manchester that the captain was forced to land in Ireland because of fears for the safety of all those on board.

Ms Campbell admitted to drinking in her hotel in Fuertaventura before going to the airport, consuming more drink while waiting for her flight and drinking a bottle of vodka which the cabin crew found by her seat.

A Jet2 flight from the Canary Islands to Manchester had to be diverted after a woman became so drunk and homophobic that the pilot feared passengers were in danger.
According to the Irish Times, Gemma Campbell was on board Jet2 Flight LS910 from Fuertaventura in the Canary Islands flying home to Manchester on 27 December.
Cork District Court heard Monday (28 December) that Campbell, following an argument with her partner, had become extremely abusive towards the cabin crew, calling one attendant a “faggot” repeatedly.

Ms Campbell was charged with being intoxicated to such an extent as to give rise to fears that she might endanger herself or other persons on board the flight
