A Vancouver resident who won $675,000 while doing his laundry didn t even have to buy the lucky lottery ticket.
Emmett O Hara s scratch-and-win Set for Life ticket was a gift from a local business, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) February 1 news release. The Vancouver resident was gifted the ticket from a moving company after using its services, and was doing laundry with his boyfriend when he remembered he had a ticket to scratch, the release noted.
“My boyfriend scratched the ticket and for a moment there was silence,” he [O Hara] recalled. “He was in complete shock. He showed me the ticket and I couldn t believe it.”

The Vancouver resident was recently doing laundry with his boyfriend when he discovered a Set for Life scratch & win ticket that he had forgotten about.
It’s a good thing he found it before it went through the wash, because the ticket showed three identical cash symbols and netted O’Hara a life-changing $675,000 prize.
