Scholar, humanist, and collector Joseph Birdsall Dallett died Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Auburn, New York. His death, following a short illness, occurred at the Finger Lakes Center for Living where he had been a resident since July 29, 2020. Generous, compassionate, curious, and open-minded, he will be greatly missed by his many friends, family members and colleagues.
Joseph was born May 27, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, to Francis James Dallett and Christine Louise Newman. He spent his formative years in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where childhood interests in the natural world, music, and languages were early expressions of a lifelong drive to grasp and interpret phenomena as coherent patterns of meaning.

BROOKHAVEN The call from the Delco Christian bench, time and again in the second half, was “whatever you want.”
Less a set play than a verbal shot of confidence from coach Reggie Parks, the instruction to his players was to read and react. To junior guards Josh Parks and Earle Greer in particular, the aim was clear: Follow your instincts, and run the floor.
Whatever they wanted was what Delco Christian got in the second half, overturning a halftime deficit at The Christian Academy on the way to a 68-56 victory over the Crusaders.

As expected, the NCAA s Transfer Portal has been incredibly active in the 11 months since a blanket waiver provided an extra year of eligibility to all student-athletes affected by last spring s cancellations.
Keep in mind that entry into the Portal simply means that players can communicate with other college programs and learn their options, as many players (UVA s Payton Cormier, for example) haved chosen to stay put or graduate and opt not to use the extra year.
