The daughter of a CoBRA commando, who went missing after the Bijapur encounter, pleaded for the safe return of her father. Commando Rakeshwar Singh Manhas is believed to be held hostage by Naxals after an ambush in Chhattisgarh.

Please, release my father , pleaded five-year-old Shragvi, the daughter of a CoBRA commando held hostage by Naxals after an ambush in Chhattisgarh.
This is all a sobbing Shragvi could utter as she wiped away her tears.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her condolences to the families of 22 security personnel killed during encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh. "Deeply grieved at the dastardly attack on our soldiers in Chhattisgarh," she said.

Last Saturday, security forces, who were involved in anti-naxal combing operations in Chhattisgarh, came under heavy attack from the naxals that resulted in the death of 22 security personnel and injured, at least, another 30 of them. No Indian jawan should face an enemy without body armour in the 21st century. It needs to be made available to every soldier, Mr Gandhi he said in a tweet.
