Dry fruit businessman from Mumbai cheats trader, then feeds cows to atone for sins | Mumbai News

A 38-year-old man, Prem Prakash Makhija, has been arrested for allegedly purchasing 320kg of cashew nut from a businessman from Marine Drive by masquerading as dry fruit trader and vamoosed without paying Rs 1.5 lakh. What helped the police nab him was his guilt which made him feed cows to wash his sins . Makhija had seen an advertiement about sale of cashew nuts at a wholesale price. He contacted the businessman, Narendra Tari (57), who owns cashew plantations in Konkan, and ordered 320 kg of cashew nuts, said senior inspector of Powai police station Vijay Dalvi. He identified himself as Pradip Agrawal, a dry fruit businessman, having a warehouse in Andheri (east).
