THE DELHI High Court has directed the crime branch to register an FIR and ordered them to make “all-out efforts” to produce before it a woman who purportedly eloped with a Muslim man to Kolkata and is stated to have married him.
While hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the woman’s father claiming that she was taken away “in an organised manner” to Kolkata on November 7, the HC bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rajnish Bhatnagar addressed the police submission that she had married the man on January 4 and did not wish to be “disturbed”.

100 children reported missing from south Delhi traced in 2020

New Delhi, Dec 20 : As many as 100 children kidnapped or reported missing by their respective families in 2020 have been traced and reunited with their families in Delhi Police s South District here, a senior officer said on Sunday.
Of these children traced by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of South District police, 80 are still below the age of 18.
These missing children were traced in Delhi and other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. These 100 children were reported missing at various police stations in Delhi and nearby states. The AHTU team put in sincere and systematic efforts to trace them, said Atul Thakur, DCP South.

During the drive, photographs of the missing children and persons were shared on different WhatsApp groups, Covid-Volunteer groups and NGOs. Announcements were made by public address in nearby areas and parks.
In view of directions passed by Delhi Police Commissioner, all staff including Anti-Human-Trafficking Unit of Dwarka district were briefed and motivated to search for the minor missing children and others. Out of 18 children traced, four are boys while 14 are girls.
