A new, county-wide comprehensive plan is needed as none exists for the County. There is a “watershed” comprehensive plan for Shades Creek, which was prepared in 2008 with three (3) minor updates.
The intention in 2008 was to begin a County-wide comprehensive plan for all of Jefferson County, however, that did not materialize. The planning timeframe for the new county-wide comprehensive plan should be a 15 to 20-year planning horizon. Goals, objectives, and policies are needed in addition to a new Future Land Use map. Deliverables for the RFP must be completed prior to December 2022.
