The caller is a suicide attempt survivor. She had a plan to kill herself at the beginning of the call.
But for the existence of Lifeline, she could have easily taken the pills she had scavenged that night, or her family could have discovered her plan. It is not hard to imagine that somebody would have eventually called 911.

Lima, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) Peru s Ministries of Health and Justice will refrain from approving the ruling to end the suffering caused by an incurable disease, the State Attorney s Office announced.
The attorneys who represent those ministries will not appeal the Ministry of Justice´s ruling in favor of Ana Estrada so that she can be euthanized to die with dignity.
The ruling orders that the Ministries of Justice and Health to respect Ana´s will, so Eduardo Vega and Óscar Ugarte, ministers of Justice and Health, respectively, supported her decision and entrusted this matter to attorneys.

Despite the situation faced by Peru and the rest of the world to control the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic there are signs of hope and very clear signs that it is possible to work in favor of an inclusive and sustainable society, Justice and Human Rights Minister Eduardo Vega affirmed on Tuesday.
The high-ranking official referred to the efforts made by the private sector to improve its due diligence mechanisms in the field of human rights, as well as to work with the State, civil society organizations, indigenous peoples and unions, in the preparation of the first National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in Peru.
