DA Office says 20 police officers in five shootings were not guilty
San Diego (CNS)-The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office issued a report on Friday stating that 20 local police officers will not face criminal charges related to five shooting incidents involving police officers, four of which resulted in deaths.
The report investigated in detail the July 2020 shooting incidents involving highway patrol personnel in San Diego, Chula Vista, and California.
Two of the cases involved the suspect shooting at the police. One of the men pointed an air gun at the police officer, and the other man ran towards the police officer with a metal rod. The last case involved a man who was shot and killed in a cross-county car chase. He pointed a black object at the police and found it was a toothbrush.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego County District Attorney s Office released reports Friday indicating that 20 local police officers will not face criminal charges related to five separate officer-involved shootings, four of which resulted in fatalities.
The reports detail investigations into shootings involving San Diego, Chula Vista and California Highway Patrol officers dating back to July of 2020.
Two of the cases involved suspects firing shots at officers.
One involved a man pointing an airsoft pistol at officers, while another involved a man wielding a metal rod and running toward officers. The final case involved a man who was fatally shot following a cross-county car chase in which he pointed a black object at officers, which turned out to be a toothbrush.

3 Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Yokosuka Regional Transportation Officer Lt. Evan Jones, has been studying Japanese through the Navy Center for Language, Regional Expertise, and Culture (CLREC).
Jones began studying Japanese in October 2019, interested in making the most out of his personal and professional experience while stationed in Japan.
“My first tour in Japan, aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), I made efforts to experience Japan to the fullest,” said Jones. “I was fortunate to be stationed in Japan again, and this time work alongside a more diverse workforce, including my Japanese colleagues and my counterparts in the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF). Learning the language enabled me to take my ‘experience’ a step further.”
