I am a retired arborist with 40 years of experience, and I agree with fellow arborists, Brian Kane and Ed Kelly, regarding what is required to protect the historic Sunderland “Buttonball” sycamore tree. It is essential that the critical root zone be clearly designated and properly protected, and all digging and large equipment must be kept away from this area. The existing fence fails to include the entire root zone and should be enlarged.
The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers Turns 50
‘Sticky Fingers’, the ninth album for The Rolling Stones, turns 50 this week. ‘Sticky Fingers’ was released on 23 April, 1971.
‘Sticky Fingers’ came midway through arguably the most creative era of The Rolling Stones. In 1968 the band released ‘Beggars Banquet’, 1969 was ‘Let It Bleed’ then ‘Sticky Fingers’ in 1971 followed by ‘Exile On Main Street’ in 1972. Those four album have continued to make up at least half a Rolling Stones setlist ever since.
‘Sticky Fingers’ was the first studio album without founder Brian Jones. Mick Taylor had replaced Jones’ following his death in 1969. Taylor had appeared on two tracks on ‘Let It Bleed’ and the live album ‘Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out’ but this was his first album as a fully fledged Stone.

BOEM withdrew plans for offshore wind energy areas Fairways North and Fairways South (at top) off the South Shore of Long Island. BOEM image.
Federal energy planners dropped two areas near Long Island from immediate consideration for offshore wind energy leases, citing potential conflicts with maritime traffic, fishing and seaside views from exclusive New York beach resorts.
The Fairways North and Fairways South areas, named for nearby shipping approaches to New York Harbor, were also seen as less attractive to wind developers for their smaller power potential. Removing them from Bureau of Ocean Energy Management planning still leaves more than 627,000 additional acres in the region available for future lease sales.
