HUNTINGTON The Fitzsimmons law firm of Wheeling is among a group of attorneys representing Huntington-based HD Media in an antitrust lawsuit against Google and Facebook, which charges the two companies with monopolizing the digital advertising market. HD Media LLC, which owns the Charleston Gazette-Mail, the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington and a half-dozen weekly newspapers, filed a 42-page complaint against Google and Facebook in federal court for the Southern District of West Virginia. According to a release from HD Media, “Google has monopolized the digital advertising market to such an extent that Google has been enabled to extract a supracompetitive share of HD Media’s advertising revenues, harming the company’s ability to effectively monetize its content.”
