Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 17 (ANI): Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy targeted Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday and said there is no transparency in Ram Temple donations. I have faith in God. However, these days, I have seen that several VHP, Bajrang Dal people are collecting money in the name of Ram Temple. I am also a victim. Three people, including a woman, came to my house recently. They threatened me why I am not giving money for the temple construction. Is this the country s prime issue: Why are you not giving money? I want to ask who is she? Is she authorised to come and ask me? former Karnataka CM told reporters.

Days after alleging RSS was marking houses of those who did not donate for Ram Temple in Ayodhya, former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said he was not opposed to the construction of the shrine, but only wanted more transparency in the fund mobilisation. The government has a responsibility to check who was collecting funds for the Ram Temple, he told a press conference here.
UDUPI: The feud over the collection of funds for Ram Temple in Ayodhya between former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra continued for the second day on Wednesday.
If Kumaraswamy had likened the fund collection drive to a ‘Nazi’ style profiling of donors on Tuesday, the former CM on Wednesday hit back at those who questioned his stand, evoking an equally strong response from the Trust.
Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha swamiji, seer of Pejavar mutt, and a trustee of SRJTK said, “The Trust is not just any benami organisation. It is a registered organisation that has been set up as per rules governing its formation. The law of the land makes it clear about the powers that the Trust has to mobilise funds from the public. The Constitution has granted the Trust powers (to collect funds) and the fund collection drive is going on constitutionally, he said.
