Maloney Invites Students to Attend Service Academy Info Session Written by Office of Rep. Sean Ma;loney
Today,
Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) invited Hudson Valley students to take part in a U.S. Service Academy Info Session on
Saturday, June 5,
at
1:30 PM, on the front lawn of Rep. Maloney’s Newburgh office at 123 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY, 12550. The session will help inform prospective U.S. Service Academy applicants about the application process, including the Congressional nomination system.
“Service Academies take the best and brightest and develop them into future leaders in the armed forces. They provide full, four-year scholarships for a high-quality education that will prepare young men and women for a lifetime of leadership and service to our country,”
During his fourth annual Salute to Service Academy Appointees event last week, U.S. Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock, recognized nine Central Texas students who he sees fit for military service.
This year, Carter appointed nine students from Bell and Williamson counties: Cody Little, Temple; Ethan Rodriguez, Belton; Julian Lashbrook, Rogers; Tristen Burton, Granger; Aiden Beasley, Cedar Park; Landon Sanders, Cedar Park; Joshua Coya, Round Rock; Konnor Bye, Liberty Hill; and Brandon Del Rio, Leander.
âNominating students to a U.S. Service Academy is one of my greatest honors as a Congressman,â Carter said in a news release. âAfter seeing their hard work and dedication firsthand, I know that the future of our nation is in good hands. The path that these students have chosen will not be easy, but I have no doubt that they are up for the challenge. I am exceptionally proud of the appointees from Texasâ 31st district and cannot wait to see all that they accomplish.â
