Bank hacks, online merchandise fraud and phishing attempts have skyrocketed during COVID-19 pandemic Salmaan Farooqui Published April 14, 2021 Bookmark When cybersecurity experts at security firm ESET wanted to better understand how people fall prey to online fraud, they decided to set up an online challenge. Only 33 per cent of Canadians polled said they are plan to spend less on gifts this year. “Despite COVID-19, there’s still a good level of optimism when it comes to preparing for the holidays,” Rebecca Oakes, Equifax Canada’s AVP of Advanced Analytics, said in a press release.
