Covid-19 recoveries decline while Gauteng, NC, FS active cases increase Updated Jacaranda FM Share this: The number of Covid-19 recoveries continues to decline as the total of the active case increase in Gauteng, the Northern Cape and the Free State.   iStock Health Minister Zweli Mkhize reveals the latest data in his daily Covid-19 statement that was released on Monday evening.  Gauteng has 11 108 active cases, followed by 7 940 in the Northern Cape and the Free State with 7 166.    The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 541 250 representing a recovery rate of 94,1%, says Mkhize.    The minister says a further 72 people passed away due to Covid-19 related complications which brings the total number of deaths to 55 874.

Spokesperson Paul Herbst says the Scottish student was trampled and gored by the rhino.  A search and rescue operation by IPSS Search and Rescue as well as anti-poaching units in the area. The student was located and preparations for evacuation were initiated.

The NPA s Natasha Kara says the child garnered enough strength to report the matter when she was 12. The incident eventually came to light when the child confided with her school friend who then told a school teacher.   The NPA welcomed this successful prosecution. The accused was in a position of trust, yet he chose to be the abuser of the child rather than her protector. We hope this sentence serves as a deterrent to the like-minded individuals.

These vaccinations were with the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine and are therefore completed vaccinations.  The total vaccinated in Phase Two to date is 39 371. These vaccinations were with the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, the department said in a statement.
