ODESSA, Texas The Ector County Independent School District Board of Trustees heard an update about from their Talent Development Department.
The three main areas of focus for this department are creating/expanding talent pipelines, outlining career pathways, and guiding professional learning.
Career pathways is when a course is plotted for identifying occupational interests and determining education. It is also an organized approach that figures out the proper training needs for talent and establishing an action plan for reaching career goals.
ECISD to provide meal service for students on March 5

ODESSA, Texas The Ector County Independent School District will be providing meals to members of its community on March 5.
Nimitz and Crockett Middle Schools will be the two campuses holding the curbside meal events from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Anyone between the age of 1 and 18 is eligible to receive these meals. People with disabilities over the age 18 who participate in school programs can receive these meals as well.

ECISD Board of Trustees approve 2021-2022 academic calendars

ODESSA, Texas The ECISD Board of Trustees have unanimously approved the new 2021-2022 academic calendars.
The district calendar committee designed the calendars and provided students with 180 instructional days, which qualifies the district for funding for ECISD s Additional Days School Year Summer Learning. This summer learning program is for grades Pre-K through 5th grade.
Other special features with this new calendar include phase in for 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. This will help 6th and 9th graders going to middle and high school get extra support and guidance.
