Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), the annual celebration of the contributions of the U.S. travel industry, will spotlight the critical role that travel will play in driving economic recovery efforts and building the path forward through the theme: Power of Travel.
Mayor Mike Schutzbach is proclaiming May 2 – 8, 2021 as National Travel & Tourism Week in the City of Effingham, IL. The 38th annual NTTW arrives at an opportune moment to recognize the importance to the U.S. economy of initiating a post-pandemic travel recovery.

The City of Effingham Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Holiday Lights & Festive Sights Competition for the 2020 holiday season is officially underway!

Judges have chosen the top 3 in each category and public voting starts today, Friday, December 11th. Voting runs from Friday, December 11 through Friday, December 18th at noon. You can vote in person at the Effingham Visitor Center (1505 Hampton Drive) or click here to vote online. Everyone is encouraged to go out and see all the homes in person as many are interactive but they will have photos of each home/business if you can’t see them in person. Tourism officials will post a map on Facebook of the top 3 homes/businesses in each category or you can stop by and pick one up at the Visitor Center.
