Oman to launch Green Hydrogen Alliance Promising potential: Goal to give new momentum to the creation of a new economy around green hydrogen SHARE @conradprabhu Adding new momentum to its ambitions to jumpstart the growth of a Green Hydrogen economy in the country, Oman is preparing to create an ‘alliance’ of local and international investors and related stakeholders to help accelerate development of zero-carbon energy projects in the Sultanate. A framework for the proposed ‘Oman Green Hydrogen Alliance’ is currently being discussed by key players at the forefront of efforts to position the Sultanate as a hub for the large-scale production of green hydrogen, according to a top official of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

Mombasa port performance improves as cargo volumes up 10 7pc in first quarter

The port handled 9.54 million tonnes of cargo in the first three months of this year, up from 8.62 million tonnes it processed in the same period last year. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) said on Friday that the 10.7 per cent growth in business was due to increased efficiency at the facility and the opening up of other ports such as those in China. In the latest report, KPA said the port recorded the highest performance in terms of average container traffic, handling an average of 4,662 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) per day.
