Vattenfall chooses Van Oord for offshore O&M

Vattenfall has awarded Van Oord a four-year operations and maintenance contract covering the former s offshore wind farms totalling 2600MW. Van Oord, through its MPI Offshore organisation, will provide jack-up and associated lifting services for main component exchanges for Vattenfall. The contract, which was first reported in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS, includes planned and unplanned maintenance campaigns for about 600 turbines. The deal has a mutual option to extend for one more year. Sif Holding is to supply 70 TP-less monopile foundations for Van Oord for the 759MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm off the Dutch coast. Sif’s scope comprises manufacturing of the monopiles and storage at the MV2 facility in Rotterdam in 2022- 2023. The company will start the fabrication of the monopiles in 2022 at its two plants in The Netherlands, subject to receipt of a notice to proceed.
