Right now, Cusdmagicdragon ($2.80) is breathing fire. On Wednesday night (Dec. 16), British Columbia s top distaff pacer delivered a third straight knockout blow to mixed company, doing so by way of a 1:53.3 win in the $8,100 Open Handicap Pace at Fraser Downs.
Scott Knight left mildly with Cusdmagicdragon from her assigned outside post 5, but waited for a three-horse battle for early contention to play out before working the five-year-old Custard The Dragon mare to the fore but she had to expend a considerable amount of effort to clear. Rockin Mystery (Rod Therres), who had won the :26.2 first-quarter skirmish, strung Cusdmagicdragon out to a :55.3 half, but the mare cruised home from there. Up the backstretch, Intrigued Again (Tony Kerwood) angled first-over from last and advanced all the way into second over a tiring Rockin Mystery at the 1:24.3 three-quarter station.
Ask Me Ifi Care, bravely and confidently handled by Mike Micallef, scored a game repeat win in Pompano Park’s $11,000 Open Handicap Pace for Mares on Tuesday (Dec. 15), stopping the timer in 1:51.4.
The sharp five-year-old daughter of Manhardt who swept wide off live cover in winning last week’s top event for mares secured her repeat win by going first up in a brave move this time around, edging by the leading and stubborn Prairie Westerngal to score by three-quarter lengths. Crisp Mane closed stoutly to finish third, just a nose back of Prairie Westerngal. Image of a Dream finished fourth while Tempus Seelster earned the minors in the classy field of six.

Pompano Beach, FL.December 14, 2020.Bell I No, driven by John MacDonald for harness racing trainer Tee Wine and the Jemaxpo Racing Stable, spoiled Southwind Amazon s quest for a 100th career victory by scoring a narrow victory in Pompano Park s $11,500 Open Handicap Pace on Sunday night (December 13).
The eight year-old gelded son of
Rock N Roll Heaven, who has made a habit of scoring many of his wins on the front end, was forced to grab the garden seat this time around, collaring the favored Southwind Amazon (Tyler Smith) at mid-stretch and then holding off the challenge of the 25 to 1 outsider, Kinnder Jackson (MIke Simons) to score by a head in 1:50.2.
