(File photo: AFP) 29 Apr 2021 05:20PM) Share this content Bookmark SINGAPORE: Singapore’s second largest bank OCBC will be reviewing its office space requirements, including the number of bank branches it has, amid changes to working patterns brought about by the pandemic. “COVID-19 has pointed to us that there is a place for hybrid operation for our staff in the sense that some can work from home and some can work from (the) office,” said its chairman Ooi Sang Kuang in response to a shareholder’s question at the bank’s virtual annual general meeting on Thursday (Apr 29).

OCBC’s Wong to Succeed Tsien as First Female Singapore Bank CEO Bloomberg 1/8/2021 (Bloomberg) Popular Searches Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. named Helen Wong as Singapore’s first female bank chief executive officer, putting her in charge of leading the island state’s second-largest lender through a severe economic downturn brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Wong, 59, is replacing Samuel Tsien who will retire in April after running OCBC since 2012, the bank said in a filing to the stock exchange on Friday. She joined OCBC last year from HSBC Holdings Plc. where she ran the British bank’s Greater China operations.
