CHARLOTTESVILE (WINA) – The University of Virginia Foundation has renamed UVa Research Park near 29 and Airport Road –merging an old name with a new. It’s now called “North Fork – A UVa Discovery Park”. It’s all part of a rebranding of the entire development.
UVa purchased the several parcels of land in 1986 and named it North Fork since it was along the north fork of the Rivanna River. To highlight the association with UVa, it was renamed UVa Research Park. And now more as a reference to the mixed use development the park has become, the Foundation has merged the old name with a new name associated with the University.
