67 Persons Penalised for Drink Driving on New Year s Eve in Guwahati
A drive against drink drive was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Police (Traffic) Pranjit Borah.

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police have penalised as many as 67 persons for drink driving on December 31 night in the city.
According to reports, the police have realised fines to the tune of Rs 63,000.
The police set up check posts and checked vehicles at places like Ambari, ABC, Ganeshguri, Dispur, Jalukbari, Chandmari, and Ulubari, among others.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Police (Traffic) Pranjit Borah along with the officials from Transport, Excise and Health Departments.
Cable installation work destroys GMC pipe in Guwahati, causes water disruption
The water disruption caused at Sarania, Ulubari, Lachit Nagar, Rehabari and surrounding areas was due to cable installation work on Friday.

Guwahati: During cable installation work on Friday, the pipeline of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) was damaged which had affected the water supply at Sarania, Ulubari, Lachit Nagar, Rehabari and surrounding areas.
As many as 10,000 people are affected due to the pipeline damage near the Paltan Bazar fire station.
The residents of the surrounding area are the worst hit. This is happening in the area for the third time this year causing problem for the people with disrupted water supply.
