A NEW budget superstore has opened its doors in Weymouth, following an investment of more than £750,000, creating dozens of jobs. The Food Warehouse has opened the 9,189 sq ft supermarket in the unit formerly occupied by Aldi at Jubilee Retail Park. Run by retail giants Iceland, the store opened its doors yesterday morning and created 30 new jobs. The retail chain, which has more than 130 stores across the country, combines the convenience of bulk buying with value fresh and frozen food deals across more than 3,000 product lines, as well as including exclusive When it’s Gone, it’s Gone’ deals on a selection of homeware items.
WEYMOUTH’s newest supermarket has opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday morning (January 19), with dozens of jobs created. The Food Warehouse, run by retail giants Iceland, opened at 8am inside the former Aldi at Jubilee Retail Park. The retail chain sells frozen, chilled, and fresh food as well as homeware, cleaning products, toys, and alcohol at affordable prices. Three people were stood outside the supermarket as they were welcomed in by the store’s management and staff members at 8am. Customers are required to use hand sanitiser and antibacterial spray on its trolleys and baskets before entering the store.
