As Mother s Day 2021 arrives this Sunday, Google is releasing new family friendly features on the occasion. The new features include Family Broadcast, Family Bell, a new Story mode, some new games and three new songs as well.
Through the enhanced broadcast feature, users can reach their family wherever they are, and they can respond from any device including from their phones. One can run the broadcast on the newly created Google Family Group and the message will reach even those who are using an iPhone.
(Pocket-lint) - Google has added several new features to Google Assistant before Mother s Day takes place in the US this Sunday.
The Broadcast feature has been extended, so you can send a message to everyone in your family group no matter which device they have - as long as it runs Google Assistant, of course.
That includes mobile phones as well as smart screen devices, such as the latest Nest Hub.

Google is announcing some improved Assistant features for families, including improved broadcasts, new bells, and some new stories that can be read to kids. Google says it’s rolling out the features for Mother’s Day, but a few of them could be useful for everyone, not just moms.
The first is an expansion of its Broadcast feature, which lets you send messages to Assistant devices in your house. Using Family Broadcast, messages will now show up on your Family Group’s phones as well, which your family members can reply to. For instance, if you wanted to tell everyone to be quiet when they come home because you’re taking a nap, they’ll now be able to get that message outside of the house.

Google I/O is inching closer, but Google is already on an announcement spree. After teasing some launcher improvements coming to tablets and giving us a first glimpse at its response to Apple s Privacy Labels, the company is now getting ready to share some Assistant updates. For one, Assistant Broadcasts can now reach family members even when they re not home, but there s much more than just that.

If you re not familiar, Assistant Broadcasts allow you to send a message to all of your Google Home and Nest devices by saying, Hey Google, tell my family, let s have dinner at seven, or anything else. The big limitation was that you could only reach family members in the vicinity of your smart home speakers and displays, but Google is looking to change that. When you create a Google Family Group, messages you broadcast via the Assistant will now also pop up on your kids and spouse s Android device
