The first batch of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) received COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
Qatar started its biggest vaccination programme against the infection on December 23 and is currently immunising people in the priority group healthcare workers, the elderly and people with chronic diseases. It will soon make the vaccine available for the general population.
Several senior health officials, including Director of Public Health Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani, Co-chairperson of National Pandemic Preparedness Committee and Director of Health Protection and Communicable Diseases Dr Hamad Eid Al Romaihi, Head of Vaccination Dr Soha Al Bayat and Medical Director of HMC’s Communicable Disease Center Dr Muna Al Maslamani, have taken the vaccine to reassure the public that the vaccine is safe.

Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Ajial Qatar launched yesterday the 4th Ajial Educational Forum at the Sharq Village and Spa. Under the theme of “Doing Good to Others”, the event is attended by 20 students, with all preventive measures applicable.
The purpose of the forum is to instil the Islamic teachings and spirit of citizenship into the youth; promote the human values of volunteerism, proactivity, and social responsibility; and develop first aid skills, so that the participants will be able to deal with any emergencies and provide immediate care for the victims.
