Archyde May 7, 2021 by archyde Dakar, May 6 (APS) – The number of people facing acute food insecurity and in urgent need of assistance that can preserve their existence and livelihoods reached, in 2020, its highest level in five years in countries experiencing food crises, a report by the Global Food Crises Network (GNAFC) found This network is an international alliance bringing together United Nations institutions, the European Union and governmental and non-governmental organizations in the fight against food crises. The study highlights that at least 155 million people in 55 countries or territories faced acute food insecurity at crisis level or worse in 2020, about 20 million more than the previous year.
