It appears Chuck D and Flavor Flav remain at odds because the leader of famed hip-hop group Public Enemy is ready to squash the beef and get back to work.

On Thursday, Hip Hop royalty met on a huge plot of bare land for a ceremonial groundbreaking of the Universal Hip Hop Museum in the south Bronx, facing the Harlem River. Some of the Hip Hop big names who graced the occasion are Slick Rick, Fat Joe, Nas, LL Cool J, Chuck D, and Grandmaster Flash. City and state officials unified with them to plant shovels on the ground for the $80 million, 52,000square-foot museum funded by the city, state, and private money.
The event applauded Hip Hop, which originated from 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, about two miles from the museum location at 50 East 150th Street, between Melrose and Mott Haven. The museum began ten years ago when the museum’s executive director Rocky Bucano endeavored to exalt rap and its origins in the Bronx. The museum will also refer to the five pillars of Hip Hop: breakdance, graffiti art, knowledge, DJing, and MCing.

Legends of Hip Hop gathered to break ground for a Universal Hip Hop Museum in the New York borough that birthed the culture, the Bronx. This included icons such as Nas, LL Cool J, Grandmaster Flash, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and many more. These Hip Hop royalties held shovels for the official ceremony celebrating the construction of the museum. According to Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr, this ceremony and groundbreaking were “long overdue.”
In a quote from Diaz, he spoke to the New York Daily News saying; “Hip hop has continued to mature. It started from the early days of young boys and girls who saw the rest of the world ignore us. Showing the rest of the world the injustices that were happening in the South Bronx, in East New York, in Manhattan, in Harlem. God bless you all, and God bless Hip Hop.”

Recently, construction of the Universal Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx began, and many legendary hip hop figures like Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, Nas, and more were there. Along with those artists, Public Enemy frontman Chuck D was present, and while talking to TMZ, he spoke about Flavor Flav.
Chuck D was asked if there was a possibility of seeing Public Enemy back together again, and Chuck responded very candidly. The legendary MC said, “Yeah, but I don’t know, in New York maybe?” From there, he was asked about Flavor Flav and if they are talking terms, with Chuck saying, “It’s whatever Flavor wants to do. We can do many things without him, but it’s up to him.”
