As the Feb. 15 return to in-person instruction approaches, all Penn State students at all campus locations are reminded that they must have a negative COVID-19 test result from a University-provided test on file prior to, and within 72 hours of, their return to their campus community.
U.S. News Ranks 2021 Best Online Programs Josh Moody
In a year marked by a deadly pandemic, much of life in 2020 was spent on the internet. That s especially true of education, with colleges scrambling to shift learning online as the coronavirus disrupted daily operations.
Online learning offered students continuity, a chance to finish the semester wherever they were as colleges closed dorms and emptied campuses. Such disruptions, however, were likely limited for online programs, such as those ranked in the 2021 U.S. News Best Online Programs, where the vast majority of coursework is delivered in an online format.
Most of the institutions included in these rankings, released today, have offered online options for years, leading a sector that higher education experts see poised for further growth even once the dust from COVID-19 settles.
U.S. News and World Report released their annual rankings of online learning programs on Tuesday, and Penn Stateâs World Campus was ranked in the top 10 of programs across the country.
According to Penn State News, this is the fifth year in a row World Campus has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report.
World Campus received six top 10 rankings, which is more than any other institution, with awards ranging from engineering to business.
Penn State was ranked No. 4 in online graduate engineering, No. 7 in graduate education and online MBA programs and No. 8 in computer IT.
The university also cracked the top 10 in online bachelors programs and non-MBA graduate business programs, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Return to Campus Information for Students
As part of the University’s comprehensive testing strategy for the spring semester, all Penn State students must meet requirements for COVID-19 testing prior to their return or if they are already living in their campus community. Students who do not complete the requirements will not be able to move into on-campus housing and/or to participate in on-campus activities until they complete the testing process. Self-test kits will be provided to students at no cost.
To get started, all students should first login to the “Know Your Status” portal and check their test status. For help with planning, students also can use the COVID-19 Testing Requirements Checklist.
