World Para Powerlifting and Proud Paralympian launch new webinar series Saturday, 8 May 2021 World Para Powerlifting and the International Paralympic Committee s (IPC) athlete education programme Proud Paralympian are collaborating on a series of free webinars for athletes off-the-field development. The four-part series started today, with each webinar being open to 20 participants, including powerlifters who competed in previous Paralympics and those who aim to make their Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020. A total of 18 nations are due to be represented across the four seminars. First of these is on the theme Working with the Media , delivered by Proud Paralympian educator Daniela Luchina. Luchina is a former Paralympic swimmer and wheelchair rugby athlete with Argentina.

Bangkok ready to host first World Para Powerlifting World Cup 05/05/21 Bangkok will host its first World Para Powerlifting World Cup from Thursday to Saturday (6 to 8 May). It will be the third World Cup of the season after Bogota, Colombia and Manchester, Great Britain in March. The capital and most populous city of Thailand will be home to 54 athletes from nine countries from Africa, Asia and Europe. DAY ONE Two sessions and four categories are scheduled for the first day of competition. It will be an all-male competition with the men’s up to 49kg, up to 54kg, up to 59kg & up to 65kg on stage.
