World Square is returning to Market Square.
After missing last year because of the pandemic, “World Square Welcoming All of Pittsburgh’s Neighbors” will return June 11-13. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. June 11, noon to 8 p.m. June 12 and noon to 6 p.m. June 13.
The three-day event features international live music, food and handcrafted items for sale from people from Mexico, West Africa, Costa Rica, Peru and Afghanistan.

“Celebrating our rich immigrant cultures and providing opportunities for them to inform our community about the diversity and energy that help shape our city has never been more important than now,” said Mayor Bill Peduto, who collaborated with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership in hosting the event here in 2019. “We’re thrilled to see the return of this event Downtown, and to recognize and celebrate the cultural expressions of our international neighbors.”

And in addition to those festivities, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and Welcoming Pittsburgh will host the World Square in Market Square event, as a way to highlight the city’s immigrant and international communities. The three-day-long event running from Fri., June 11-Sun., June 13 will transform Market Square with the “sights, sounds, and cuisine of the international and immigrant communities of Pittsburgh,” according to a press release. Visitors can expect hand-crafted items, prepared foods, live entertainment, and much more from local restaurants, businesses, and performing arts groups.

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: The drive-in vaccination session was extended to five sites from the existing two in Noida on Saturday. Now, three of the locations are in Greater Noida and two in Noida.
Last week, when drive-in vaccinations were launched in the city, the sessions were held in DLF Mall of India in Sector 18 and Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium in Greater Noida.
The session sites that were added on Saturday were GIP Mall in Noida, and Omaxe CP Mall and Gaur City Mall in Greater Noida.
“The objective is to ease the process of getting the vaccines,” district magistrate Suhas LY said about increasing the session sites. The target is to inoculate at least 100 recipients at each of the sites, sources said.
