Hellshire Beach during the Independence holidays this year. The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has listed 16 beaches and 19 rivers that are to remain closed in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the island. Prime Minister Andrew Holness shared the list on social media Monday. Roaring River Fish Hatchery wraps up renovations as catch-and-release season continues Sara Karnes, Springfield News-Leader You have to think of the big picture when it comes to raising trout from eggs to fingerlings to parr and older at a hatchery. After a two-year pause due to renovations, Roaring River Fish Hatchery officials are glad to be back in operation. Roaring River Hatchery Manager Paul Spurgeon said the hatchery took back full ownership from the construction company Dec. 2 following a nearly $2 million project that replaced the spring pool falls with electric gates. The flood control structure at the spring’s entrance also was replaced with a leak-proof pipeline.
